Vernier Calipers (Principle & Description)
Our Objective
- To know the use of the Vernier Calipers.
- To measure the diameter of a small spherical / cylindrical body.
- To measure the length, width and height of the given rectangular block.
- To measure the internal diameter and depth of a given beaker/calorimeter and hence find its volume.

Answer. The number of vernier scale divisions coinciding with main scale divisions should either be one less or one more.

Answer. It is the difference between value of one main scale division and one vernier scale division of a vernier callipers.

Answer. It is the least quantity that the instrument can measure accurately. (For a vernier calipers, its. least count is equal to vernier constant.)
